MEET YOUR HOST:
Hi! My name is Carla and I’m with David and our two kids Roberto (10) and Greta (8). We have been traveling full time since 2018 and are originally from Tenerife, Spain. We started our worldschooling journey in a campervan that still travels with us, but sometimes we park the van and travel in other transport to get to the place we want. We have been to many worldschooling hubs and pop ups and we really know the importance and the meaning of this community.
We have been to Thailand, Mexico, Escandinavia, Greece, Italy, and many other countries of Eastern Europe. We have still a big list of things and places we want to do and visit. We always work toward being able to continue in movement around the globe and the traveling through cultures.
Valencia is the place where my mum was born. It’s a place where I’ve spent many summers of my childhood and a place I keep coming back because I have a lot of family and friends there. It’s a big, nice city with many things to do and places to see that I can’t wait to share while hanging out with other families!
As a family we would love to see you all, the ones that already know, and the ones that we haven’t met yet. This pop up, will be amazing!!
LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS:
Valencia is a nice city to walk and ride bikes (as it is really flat), so you just walk from one place to another or use bikes or public transport. Activities will be from the Les Tendetes neighborhood in the west to the Oceanographic in the east. There is plenty of accommodation available throughout the center of Valencia.
Look for accommodation near the old channel of Turia, this way you will have green area to walk any time with playgrounds, sport areas, etc. Google it in google maps and have a look, the old channel is full of all sorts of things! (Old Channel of Turia = «Cauce viejo del río Turia» in Spanish). You could also choose to stay close to the beach at the east side of the old channel of Turia and take transport or bikes to go to the centre.
There is campgrounds for campervans, tents and they also have cabins. They are near the coast but well connected by bus to the centre.

The host family will be staying with extended family in an out-of-the-way neighborhood, they will have to transport into the center for pop-up activities (Tavernes Blanques is the name of the neighborhood). Orriols, Nazaret, and Benicalap are other neighborhoods you can avoid.
