Estambul, Turquía Pop-Up Hub

Come join us in Istanbul, Turkey for a fun-filled and community-centered worldschooling gathering February 26 – March 4, 2023.
Our pop-ups provide a super casual, budget-friendly opportunity to gather, connect with other worldschoolers, learn about the local area, instill new friendships, share your insights, and immerse in a friendly, accepting mobile community.
We’ve cherry-picked the best low- or no-cost activities that highlight local nature, arts, history, food, and culture… but you’ll also have plenty of time to relax, get to know each other, and even stray from the itinerary to add activities that cater to the group’s interests (we provide supplemental ideas to tailor your experience).
Pop in for a few days or the full week. Join as many activities as you’d like. It’s up to you! We would love to have you come and simply hang out with like-minded families while we dive in and explore the local offerings.
Our itinerary will include activities such as the following:
*Blue Mosque
*Hagia Sophia
*Topkapı Palace
*Shopping the Grand Bazaar and spice markets
*Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum
*Basilica Cistern
*Dolmabahce Palace
Add ons include taking a Bosphorus River cruise or watching a Whirling Dervish performance.

MEET YOUR HOST:
Rachel and her family will be hosting this event. Rachel’s family has been on the road full time since 2018 with plenty of travel experience prior to that. Two of their children will join in this pop-up (ages 13 and 15), their oldest is out of the home. Favorite family travel destinations include Spain, New Zealand, Mexico, and Namibia, though Rachel also loves Sweden, Switzerland, and Laos.
LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS:
Most families will want to book accommodations in the Sultanahmet neighborhood, in the middle of Istanbul’s star attractions and old town. The host family is staying south of the Grand Bazar and west of Blue Mosque.
