My name is Jenny and I a single parent to my wonderful son\, Baxter. We are currently based in London\, UK\, where we have both lived our entire lives\, however\, we travel as often as possible and hope to increase that in the coming years. I am a professional freelance photographer and specialize in capturing children and families in a natural\, unposed style. Baxter is 7 years old and we mostly follow an unschooling style here in London where we visit a ridiculous amount of galleries\, museums\, immersive art shows\, and more. He attends a self-directed learning community 2 days a week while I work and whilst I would rather be travelling full time it’s not a bad base to plan from. \nBaxter and I recently returned from a pop-up in Athens and loved it so much we can’t wait to get out there again ASAP\, so I signed up to host! I was an international producer for many years so it seems like a natural application of my skills to begin hosting and I am beyond excited that our first destination will be the beautiful Prague! Baxter and I have visited before when he was much younger and found so many things to do and see that I can’t wait to share with you all. From historic castles to Tram Museums\, Gingerbread to Trdelnik (you’ll see!)\, and the breathtaking Prokop Valleys Nature Park… Prague is even more stunning in springtime. \n  \nLODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS: \nPrague is divided into 10 municipal districts (1-10)\, most of our activities take place within Prague 1-3. \n  \nADDITIONAL INFORMATION: \nJoin the private Facebook group to ask questions\, stay up to date on activities in the area\, and interact with other potential attendees: www.facebook.com/groups/praguepopupmay2023/ \nBrowse our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about how our pop-ups work: https://www.worldschoolpopuphub.com/faqs

SUMMARY:Worldschoolers Hub Da Nang Vietnam
DESCRIPTION:Food\, Culture\, UNESCO Heritage experiences and Vietnamese trains!\nWorldschoolers bucket list hosts travelling hubs. What is a travelling hub? It means our hubs run for 4 weeks and change location every month. This means every month you get a new experience in a new country. Our hubs are planned in a 4-month semester block. You can join for 1 month or the full semester and get an additional 15% off.\nGet to know Da Nang\, Hue\, and Hoi An with like-minded families and explore the country of Vietnam! We will be in Da Nang and then take two side trips. One where we will catch the train through Hai Van Pass to UNESCO World Heritage site Hue and another to experience the Lantern Festival in Hoi An\nDa Nang is the one of most worth living cities in Vietnam\, a city with the harmony of mountains\, the sea and rivers. There are two mountains close to Danang\, Monkey Mountain and Marble Mountain\, both are perfect destinations for nature lovers and mountain hikers. Son Tra Mountain\, commonly known as “Monkey Mountain” gives you a breathtaking view over the ocean and the city. More of a beach person? A long coast of more than 10 kilometres offers more than ten fantastic white sandy beaches.\nHue is a city chock-full of stories. The Kings of the Nguyen Dynasty built their feudal capital along Hue’s fertile riverbanks and atop its forested hills\, but their imperial legacy is just one of many reasons to visit. Hue’s refined cuisine is the stuff of legend\, and its leafy streets are lined with mossy pagodas\, art déco mansions\, and eye-popping markets. Throughout the whole scene flows the Perfume River\, sets a languid pace the rest of the city is happy to follow.\nHoi An Ancient Town is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences\, both indigenous and foreign\, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site. The Hoi An Lantern Festival is a monthly event that celebrates the full moon. The full moon is one of the most sacred times in the Buddhist calendar. It is said that Buddha was not only born on a full moon but attained enlightenment on a full moon.\nWorldschoolers Bucket list is proud to partner with Smart Cookiez and Trammell Classes to offer 100+ unique STEAM-based lessons and experiences. These learning experiences include Coding & Programing\, Creative Writing\, Engineering\, DnD\, Content Creation\, Entrepreneurship\, Book Clubs\, and more! Join as many activities as you’d like. It’s up to you! \nOur itinerary will include activities such as the following: \n*Ueno Park and zoo for a picnic\, paddle boats\, and national museums \n*Ameyoko\, a lively outdoor street market with discount shops and restaurants \n*Asakusa\, a cultural center with temples\, pagodas\, and shops showcasing Japanese traditional snacks\, clothing\, & toys \n*Akihabara\, the electronics\, manga\, and anime mecca \n*Harajuku\, a trendy district known for kawaii (cute) fashion culture \n*Shinjuku\, the skyscraper city within a city along with a vast underground network and 45th floor observation deck atop the Tokyo Metro building \n*Odaiba\, an expansive area on reclaimed land from Tokyo Bay with entertainment-oriented attractions\, science center\, shopping centers\, and Tokyo’s wholesale food market \n*Yokohama city with its Chinatown and bay area attractions including the Nippon Maru sailing ship\, Cup of Noodles Museum where you can design and make your own Cup of Noodles\, and the monstrous Gundam moving robot \n*Eating at an izakaya restaurant\, where each restaurant serves up a variety of small\, delicious Japanese dishes\, generally unique to each establishment \n*Eating at kaiten sushi\, a rotating conveyor belt sushi restaurant \n*Singing your heart out in a private echoing karaoke room\, or applauding (or laughing) at the others while enjoying snacks and drinks \n*Nakameguro Cherry Blossom Festival (our dates line up with the tail end of cherry blossom season although viewing season changes yearly depending on the weather\, so this is not guaranteed) \n  \nCOST per Family \nNote: This event is limited to 15 families. \nUS$70 Early Bird Rate\, expires February 15th\, 2023 \nUS$100 Regular Rates (solo parents receive a 25% discount\, use code SOLO at checkout) \n  \nMEET YOUR HOST: \nHello\, my name is Ken and my wife\, Linda\, and I are excited to be your hosts for the Tokyo Pop-Up Hub. Last year I retired early to start worldschooling with our 11-year-old twin daughters. I am from Canada and first got interested in Japan back in 1992 and have visited Japan more than 20 times. In 2018 we moved from Canada to the Tokyo area where we’ve lived for close to 4 years. Linda is native Japanese\, and we are both functionally bilingual in both Japanese and English. You can ask us anything about Japan and we will likely be able to give you the inside story. \nWe like to travel to places to explore new cultures\, food\, adventure activities\, meet new people\, and experience nature. Like you\, we want to give our kids learning opportunities from rich real-world experiences and travel\, rather than from a traditional school setting. Last year we visited Costa Rica\, Mexico\, France\, Italy\, Romania\, UAE\, & Vietnam\, so we also learned some Spanish\, French\, Italian\, and Romanian\, although some of it may already be starting to fade away. Can’t wait to meet you all to introduce you to many of the fascinating things in Tokyo\, Japan\, and make some worldschooling friends for our kids as well. \n  \nLODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS: \nMost of our activities will be in\, or around\, central Tokyo. This area is generally defined by the Yamanote loop train line. \nTry to reserve accommodation as early as possible because our pop-up coincides with cherry blossom season\, which can be very busy. Recommended areas include Shinjuku\, Ikebukuro\, Shinagawa\, Taito\, Shibuya\, Meguro\, Ueno\, Sumida and Setagaya. Follow this link to a map of Tokyo’s «23 Wards.» https://www.greenandturquoise.com/a-beginners-guide-to-tokyo-popular-districts/ \nAlthough lodging in the central area will be the most efficient\, there are are trains crisscrossing the entire region out to the suburbs (which may offer less expensive for accommodations). \nGoogle Maps is reliable to determine the cost and travel time to get to the center. There are regular express trains from the suburbs to downtown. A 20km ride may only take 30 minutes. The major stations on the Yamanote train line include Tokyo\, Ueno\, Ikebukuro\, Shinagawa\, and Shinjuku. If you are able to stay within Tokyo’s «23 Wards\,» you will be in a good spot. If you are up to 20km into the suburbs\, but close to a train station\, you will generally be fine. \nNote: Staying in the Odaiba area is not recommended because it is serviced by the slower and more expensive monorail line. \nHere are some possible accommodations. Most are no-nonsense accommodations\, generally classified as business hotels\, but Airbnbs (if you can find them) will usually be more economical. \nhttps://www.superhoteljapan.com/ \nhttps://www.sakura-hotel.co.jp/ \nhttps://www.toyoko-inn.com/ \nhttps://www.apahotel.com/ \nhttps://www.asiacenter.or.jp/ \nhttps://www.sakura-house.com/ \n  \nADDITIONAL INFORMATION: \nJoin the private Facebook group to ask questions\, stay up to date on activities in the area\, and interact with other potential attendees: \nhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/tokyopopupapril2023  \nBrowse our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about how our pop-ups work: \nhttps://www.worldschoolpopuphub.com/faqs

It houses the Museum of the Old Florentine House. \n– Visit the Uffizi Gallery\, this is a renowned art museum and is considered one of the most important Italian museums in the world. \n– Learn to make fresh pasta! \n  \nCOST per Family \nUS$70 Early Bird Rate\, expires December 15st\, 2022 \nUS$100 Regular Rates (solo parents receive a 25% discount\, use code SOLO at checkout) \n  \nMEET YOUR HOST: \nWe are Sarah\, Massimiliano\, and our 3 kids Cosimo 14\, Emma 12\, and Luca 7. Our family is originally from Florence\, Italy but lived in the USA for 8 years. In 2018 we sold everything to travel the world and have visited over 40 countries up to now. What started as a gap year is now our lifestyle! \nWe love to meet like-minded families and share time and travel stories\, so this pop up is the perfect environment to do this. We are thrilled to have a chance to host it and are looking forward to meeting you! \n  \nLODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS: \nFlorence is a relatively small city and its center\, is still compact. Florence’s center lies between the Duomo in the north and the Arno River in the south. To the east of the city center are Santa Croce and Sant’Ambrogio areas\, while the Santa Maria Novella area is towards the west. For families traveling on foot\, the center is the best option. Everything is at walking distance or well connected with buses. Plus you can easily find places to eat and it is a great way of truly experiencing the city. \nIf you are coming with a car\, keep in mind that parking can be pricy and in the center you can only enter with a permit. The neighborhoods on the outskirts that we reccomand are Gavinana\, Piazza Beccaria\, Novoli\, Porta Romana\, and Careggi — make sure to verify where you can park the car AND double check there is a bus stop or tranvia (metro) stop close by. \nThe host family will be staying outside the center in the area of Galluzzo\, this is another good neighborhood further away from downtown but connected by bus. In this area you can park camper vans for free on one of the streets. If you need to stay in a campsite there is one at the exit of Firenze Sud and one at the exit of Galluzzo. \n  \nADDITIONAL INFORMATION: \nJoin the private Facebook group to ask questions\, stay up to date on activities in the area\, and interact with other potential attendees: \nwww.facebook.com/groups/florencepopup2023/ \nBrowse our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about how our pop-ups work: \nhttps://www.worldschoolpopuphub.com/faqs

I\, Kenichiro\, was raised in Osaka until the sixth grade and have returned multiple times as an adult\, even organizing fun tours of the Osaka area for several of my friends! Osaka may not be the first choice for most foreign visitors\, but I believe it has much to offer. It’s a city with a full cosmopolitan and cultural experience but because it is smaller than Tokyo\, it’s less expensive. \nOne of our goals of traveling is to become comfortable with feeling uncomfortable. We seek out opportunities to grow and learn through cultural immersion and have visited Japan\, Thailand\, Indonesia\, El Salvador\, Costa Rica\, Nicaragua\, and Caribbean Islands on shorter trips. My spouse and I chose to retire early and began traveling fulltime in 2020. We initially house sat and took care of pets in Spain and around the US. Whenever possible\, we focus on staying in and supporting family-owned businesses. Since 2021 we have lived in El Salvador\, Guatemala\, Ecuador\, and Peru. We are currently traveling with 5 other families and a teacher as a part of “The Traveling Circus” and have learned the importance of community and slow travel. In 2023 we are choosing to leave the “Circus” to travel on our own but are very excited to make new connections. Allow me to show you the places that the parents of Osaka take their children as we enjoy Japan’s cherry blossom season together. \n  \nLODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS: \nOsaka is a large but safe city. If you use your common sense there are no truly dangerous areas to avoid. However\, our activities are grouped by areas accessible via public transport. Our host recommends the following three neighborhoods serviced by the Midosuji subway line: (1) Kita Ward (North 北): Around Osaka and Umeda stations. (2) Minami (South 南): Around Namba Station. (3) Tennoji/Abeno: Around Tennoji and Abeno stations. These are centralized neighborhoods with good transportation access. We would love to have you come and simply hang out with like-minded families while we dive in and explore the local offerings. \nOur itinerary will include activities such as the following: \n*Strolling/biking the oceanside boardwalk of Malecón de Veracruz \n*Hanging at the Plaza Zócalo de Veracruz \n*Checking out local Danzón music/dancing at Palacio Municipal \n*Sampling the famous lechero at Cafe de la Parroquia \n*Exploring shops and restaurants at Los Portales de Veracruz \n*Browsing the crafts at Mercado Miguel Alemán Valdés \n*Bird watching at Mirador Foro Boca \n*Visiting local museums such as Museo de Cera (wax figures)\, Museo de la Ciudad\, and Museo Naval México \n*Exploring the San Juan de Ulúa ruins \n*Playing at Parque Jardin de Olmos \n*Wildlife spotting Reserva Natural Estatal Arroyo Moreno \n*And plenty of beach time at Playas Martí & Villa Del Mar & Mocambo \nAdd-on options include Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum\, aquarium Acuario de Veracruz with dolphin shows\, or a day trip to see the ruins at Quiahuiztlan and Cempoala\, river rafting at Jalcomulco\, Isla de Enmedio\, the UNESCO Heratige site of Tlacotalpan\, and more. \nCOST per Family \nUS$70 Early Bird Rate\, expires December 15st\, 2022 \nUS$100 Regular Rates (solo parents receive a 25% discount\, use code SOLO at checkout) \n  \nMEET YOUR HOST: \nWe are Sarah\, Massimiliano\, and our 3 kids Cosimo 14\, Emma 12\, and Luca 7. Sydney is our home base for the last 13 years\, and we are filmmakers\, musicians\, performers\, animal rights advocates\, content creators\, and explorers. Nikita\, his older sister (27) and I have traveled in Australia\, Mexico\, USA\, Canada\, Guatemala\, and Fiji. Nikita and I lived in Mexico for the last seven months and explored it deeply. \nWe have a very wide range of interests from exploring nature & cultures to filming documentaries to standing strong against injustices. We know Australia quite well as we traveled here a lot. During the pandemic restrictions we were locked in Sydney and had a lot of time to explore each and every corner around the city. We can guarantee you a unique pop-up full of discoveries\, adventures\, and fun for everyone. \nOur award-winning documentaries are available on our YouTube channel\, Golden Salamander Talks. Plus\, Nikita runs his own YouTube channel\, Nikita Phoenix Drone Pilot. \n  \nLODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS: \nMost of our activities will take place in Sydney City Center or Sydney South. Sydney South is affordable and takes ~25 / 30 minutes by train to get into the city if you are located near a train station. Look for accommodation on the Blue Illawarra line such as Arncliffe- Rockdale- Kogarah- Carlton- Allawah- Hurstville stations or closer to the city center. Newtown is another option\, a fun hippie town with its own train station. Being located near a train station is highly recommended as city parking is very expensive and buses are lovely but quite slow. \nWe recommend against staying in Western Sydney or Northern Sydney. The host family is staying in Sydney South\, near the train station Kogarah. Roxanne is available to give advice before you book. \n  \nADDITIONAL INFORMATION: \nJoin the private Facebook group to ask questions\, stay up to date on activities in the area\, and interact with other potential attendees: \nhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/sydneypopup2023 \nBrowse our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about how our pop-ups work: \nhttps://www.worldschoolpopuphub.com/faqs \nRead more about what is included in our event and what each family needs to arrange on their own: \nhttps://www.worldschoolpopuphub.com/event-details

SUMMARY:Pop-up\, Hub - Penang\, Malaysia
DESCRIPTION:A week-long gathering for traveling families to explore Penang\, Malaysia. Our itinerary includes Georgetown UNESCO World Heritage Zone + murals\, Clan Jetties\, Penang Hill\, Penang National Park\, eat at a Hawker Centre\, Kek Lok Si Temple\, Balik Pulau – Saanen Dairy Goat Farm\, and more! \nCome join us in Penang\, Malaysia for a fun-filled and community-centered worldschooling gathering January 23 – 29\, 2023. Chinese New Year is celebrated on Jan 22\, 2023 and we will enjoy the festive season in Penang. \nOur pop-ups provide a super casual\, budget-friendly opportunity to gather\, connect with other worldschoolers\, learn about the local area\, instill new friendships\, share your insights\, and immerse in a friendly\, accepting mobile community. \nWe’ve cherry-picked the best low- or no-cost activities that highlight local nature\, arts\, history\, food\, and culture… but you’ll also have plenty of time to relax\, get to know each other\, and even stray from the itinerary to add activities that cater to the group’s interests (we provide supplemental ideas to tailor your experience). \nPop in for a few days or the full week. Join as many activities as you’d like. It’s up to you! We would love to have you come and simply hang out with like-minded families while we dive in and explore the local offerings. \nOur itinerary will include activities such as the following: \n*Chinese New Year festivities \n*Georgetown UNESCO World Heritage Zone + murals \n*Clan Jetties \n*Penang Hill \n*Penang National Park \n*Eat at a Hawker Centre \n*Kek Lok Si Temple \n*Balik Pulau – Saanen Dairy Goat Farm \n  \nCOST per Family \nUS$70 Early Bird Rate\, expires November 15\, 2022 \nUS$100 Regular Rates (solo parents receive a 25% discount\, use code SOLO at checkout) \n  \nMEET YOUR HOST: \nHi everyone\, my name is Max and I’m excited to be your host for the Penang Pop-Up Hub!! My wife and I have two young boys (6 & 4) and have always been avid travelers. Now that we have kids\, we continue to travel as much as possible to learn from other people\, places and cultures. In December of 2021 we left our home in Miami for an 8-month worldschool adventure that «ended» in August 2022 when we landed in Taipei for the start of our expat journey! We expect to live here for the next few years\, though continuing to travel as much as we can during school holidays =) \nIn February 2022\, we attended our first Worldschool Pop-Up Hub while in Merida\, Mexico. A few months later we hosted one in Mexico City where we explored the amazing wonders of North America’s largest urban population. My parents are both from Penang\, Malaysia\, and we will be visiting family for Chinese New Year… I figured it’s the perfect opportunity to gather worldschoolers together to show you around our hometown\, an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008!! I’ve never celebrated CNY in Penang before\, but it is known as a major New Year’s destination and the region transforms into a bustling\, chaotic celebration. \nCan’t wait to meet you and ring in the New Year together! \n  \nLODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS: \nGeorgetown – The historic center and capital of the island… and is the UNESCO World Heritage Zone. Housing will typically be in old\, unique shop houses although many units are renovated and modern on the inside. \nTanjung Tokong and Straits Quay – North of Georgetown\, a much more modern-looking area with many skyscrapers. \nBatu Ferringhi – The popular beaches area and expat haven (although expats will be found in all these neighborhoods) \n*Note\, traffic everywhere will be quite bad for the holidays\, but perhaps most especially along this entire northern stretch of the island\, from Georgetown to Batu Ferringhi. \nBayan Lepas – On the southern part of the island\, this is a bit more of a locals neighborhood\, although you will find many of the working expats here due to its proximity to the industrial parts of Penang. This is where the host family will be staying with their family. \nAir Itam – A decidedly more local neighborhood\, despite being home to many tourist attractions in Penang Hill and the Kek Lok Si Temple. \nGETTING AROUND: \nGrab will almost always be the best option\, so be sure to download the app (basically Southeast Asia’s version of Uber). Unfortunately\, traffic will likely be awful for the entire week. This is the downside to being in a popular destination during the biggest holiday of the year. However\, we will plan a logistically efficient itinerary\, grouping activities by proximity. \nADDITIONAL INFORMATION: \nJoin the private Facebook group to ask questions\, stay up to date on activities in the area\, and interact with other potential attendees: \nwww.facebook.com/groups/penangpopup2023 \nBrowse our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about how our pop-ups work: \nhttps://www.worldschoolpopuphub.com/faqs \nRead more about what is included in our event and what each family needs to arrange on their own: \nhttps://www.worldschoolpopuphub.com/event-details
