Our family is originally from Florence\, Italy but lived in the USA for 8 years. In 2018 we sold everything to travel the world and have visited over 40 countries up to now. What started as a gap year is now our lifestyle! \nWe love to meet like-minded families and share time and travel stories\, so this pop up is the perfect environment to do this. We are thrilled to have a chance to host it and are looking forward to meeting you! \n  \nLODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS: \nFlorence is a relatively small city and its center\, is still compact. Florence’s center lies between the Duomo in the north and the Arno River in the south. To the east of the city center are Santa Croce and Sant’Ambrogio areas\, while the Santa Maria Novella area is towards the west. For families traveling on foot\, the center is the best option. Everything is at walking distance or well connected with buses. Plus you can easily find places to eat and it is a great way of truly experiencing the city. \nIf you are coming with a car\, keep in mind that parking can be pricy and in the center you can only enter with a permit. The neighborhoods on the outskirts that we reccomand are Gavinana\, Piazza Beccaria\, Novoli\, Porta Romana\, and Careggi — make sure to verify where you can park the car AND double check there is a bus stop or tranvia (metro) stop close by. \nThe host family will be staying outside the center in the area of Galluzzo\, this is another good neighborhood further away from downtown but connected by bus. In this area you can park camper vans for free on one of the streets. If you need to stay in a campsite there is one at the exit of Firenze Sud and one at the exit of Galluzzo. \n  \nADDITIONAL INFORMATION: \nJoin the private Facebook group to ask questions\, stay up to date on activities in the area\, and interact with other potential attendees: \nwww.facebook.com/groups/florencepopup2023/ \nBrowse our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about how our pop-ups work: \nhttps://www.worldschoolpopuphub.com/faqs
